ANC is awesome, IMHO. I’d have gone there from day 1 and stayed until retirement (move, not commute). You’re away from SDF so generally more chill work experience. Crews are awesome, vibe is solid.

We chose not to go there as it’s Too far from family, long travel times for vacations, and not a great place for raising kids (schools are meh, small population complications, etc). Z is pretty darn good if you have decent seniority. I’d wager that senior Z beats senior ANC 74, bit all things considered I’d much rather live in ANCq than SDF.

I heard commute is easier now though still not rated as easy. You don’t want to miss a commute as a new hire.
