Yes, it is an option. Service comes with rewards and consequences and thankfully some choose to still serve. They should be commended for that choice. I don’t like to get involved with the MIL leave debate because it doesn’t affect me. My service was a long time ago and purely guard. To say anything accusatory is out of line IMHO. People know the rules and the consequences for breaking them. I find it very very difficult to believe there is any significant amount of people risking their careers in both the military and at Delta for some days off. This is more about someone disliking the rules rather than a service member breaking them.
