Not correct. The vacancy that closed in December had over 100 Airbus Captain awards in ORD and SFO going mostly from 12,000 to 14,500 seniority which are early 2022 and 2023 hires. Its just on pause now because we are still training all the New Hire Captains from last year that have their 1 year on property and once that pipeline is clear the NB CA bids will start again in November per Crew Resources. With 200 hires a month starting in November the vacancy bids will be fast and furious, especially since the 787s are coming a 2 a month starting in January instead of the 2 planes every 3 months we have now.
I looked up the Dec '24 vacancy and you are indeed correct. Don't know how I missed seeing all those 320CAs. However in the last 6 months I haven't seen anyone junior to about 11,000 awarded upgrade, which I believe is about 2021 hires. That said, there really are a ton of really senior FOs who didn't put in their bid and are now sitting on the sidelines waiting for the next big vacancy. So I really don't see upgrade going much below 4--5 years. I would love to be proven wrong again....
