Every 5-10 days, a mid latitude cyclone passes across the country. About once a month one of them has a cold front that stretches from CLE to IAH, and if conditions are right, you get thunderstorms across the entire front. If those storms are strong enough, the hit ATL and NYC and we have to “plan our commutes accordingly,” get re-routed, and then fail to get paid correctly.

That’s another good example of a place you can’t always avoid storms. Sometimes there’s just a cell every 40 miles, so there is no way you can deviate 80 miles away from a single cell.
