No that would be stupid, it would be an unintentional consequence of the group saying no to the first offer thus delaying the negotiations.
In what industry is saying yes to the first offer ever a great idea on any negotiation unless it’s great. Why would we be any different. Why would the company give us a great first offer when this pilot group has a history of accepting less and taking the first offer.

Oh boohoo the company could staff all the 787s in Seattle with HA pilots (which btw who cares), or the economy could dump, or we could lose leverage if hiring doesn’t pick up. You’re jumping through so many hoops to try to convince people to vote yes on the first offer no matter what. #managementstooge

If it’s an amazing first offer that fulfills everyone’s asks and raises the bar then great, vote yes. I doubt it will be. Hope I’m wrong.
