Ths issue isn't DOJ allowing or not allowing airline mergers. Its that the airlines worth buying have far too much debt for what value they would bring. Better to just partner and get some benefits that way than a full on debt acquisition. Maybe in a couple years after BK and if Jetblue shrinks considerably it could happen, but for now there is no advantage to any airline buying Jetblue, especially when United will get as many planes in the next 2-3 years as Jetblue's entire fleet.
who said the merger is about “aircraft”
Anyway, you are still here arguing about something that apparently won’t happen. Which still amazes me why waste the time?

But two points if I may.

1.

It would be a very bad idea (if someone wanted a merger) to wait. If there is a democrat in office all bets are off.

B.

Can you give us poor JetBlue pilots some stock tips it seems you have the ear of Kirby and are very confident about your views. We could use the money.
