I also don’t remember much koolaide being served above the “we want to be the best and give you the best resources” To the poster above that “can’t imagine doing this for the next 20 years”, seriously? It’s 8 days over the next 20 years.
I am “local” (about an hour drive on a good day) and I am not pleased about the VA Ave part. It really disappointing that our entire company and training facilities are in such a crappy place but that’s a different discussion. I don’t know how Delta can do anything about other than pressure the local gov to do something about it.
Again from an initial upgrade perspective, this is all well and good. But how much of this is going to change over the next 10-20-30 years that we need to be refreshed on it. Once you know what’s there, the QCQ modules, the 9 month sims, the 24 month line checks, the monthly topics of interest, the safety magazine, compliance with chuck videos, and the weekly updates pretty much keeps you updated. This class just feels redundant and a bit ego stroking to me. Mix in story time and the travel day (12 days total over 20 years to be more accurate for those that can’t drive) and I guess I’m just annoyed at the new unnecessary obligation.
ADG for all training days in the new contract just became that much more obvious I suppose.
