This is the worst argument I've heard so far. If so many of the 60+ are on LTD we should probably not be raising the age without stricter medicals/oversight/check rides. So LTD cost would go up already.. I'm not against the age going up, because I assume I'll be fully capable of working till I'm 67. If it turns out enough of us aren't the age should not be raised. Using LTD as a tool to supplement your 401k, especially if you didn't pay into the cost associated with that is a horrible suggestion. Sure it's nice for you to get another two years of pay, but it's the younger pilots that will be paying the premium for it. Most selfish and ignorant post of the month. The stagnation for 2 years is a cost to those junior already..
Maybe at age 60 to mitigate that you could start super-medicals?
