Honestly I'm a little surprised at the response online to my point. FYI I was diagnosed with Stage IV rectal cancer and went through 2 years of radiation, chemo, and surgery. Happily 2 years later I'm a bit of a medical miracle as my PETScans, MRI, and Signatera blood test all show no sign of cancer which is far from typical for a person with Stage IV colorectal cancer.

Up until I got diagnosed I was the perfectly healthy specimen, living life as a vegan, and exercising 3 times a week at minimum, and I was expecting to go until 65 especially after paying my dues in the right seat for 5 years when the age went from 60 to 65.

But . . . life throws you curve balls sometimes. After surgery I'm in the bathroom 10 to 20 times a day so no more flying for me. I was forced to retire by this situation at 57 and lost the best years of retirement saving potential, and I see LTD as a type of insurance for all not a boondoogle for a few. Sorry if some here disagree. I hope none of the folks throwing aspersions my way ever end up on LTD.
