Short version: the case against the pilot fell apart, he was reinstated at United, and Denver paid him a settlement.
  • Who/what happened: United Airlines captain ****** ******* was arrested at the Westin hotel attached to Denver International Airport (DIA) on Sept. 20, 2018 after TSA employees reported seeing a naked man at a 10th-floor window. He said he was in his hotel room, thought he had privacy, and wasn’t aware anyone could see in. United suspended him for six months.
  • Criminal case outcome: A judge dismissed the indecent-exposure charge in 2019.
  • City settlement: The City of Denver paid ******* $300,000 in Nov. 2019 to resolve his wrongful-arrest claim.
  • Civil suit vs. hotel: ******* later sued the Westin DIA; that civil case was dismissed in Jan. 2021.
