I feel like the people getting pushback from the DP are trying to be slick or game the system. If I was a duty pilot and you called me "not fatigued" but trying to push show time, I'd highly encourage you to call fatigued. It's not some secret ploy by management to "get ya", it's literally the mechanism for the thing you're asking.
Not only that, but it's the mechanism where if the same rotations/layover keep showing up in the "data" that eventually someone in the company will go "hmm...maybe that situation isn't working how we thought".
These clowns that sit behind a desk/phone in ATL will never ever understand that 6am report to min rest layover + 5am report to min rest layover + 14 hour layover =/= rested.
