Do you think the bean counters won’t do the math at the end? Meaningful pay concessions would save maybe a couple of weeks, if they even split hairs to that extent.
Beware any mgmt consultant messaging that “the only thing that can save the company is to re-negotiate contracts.” The money you give up would be used to cover the consultants’, lawyers’, and executives’ fees and golden parachutes—not to save or prolong the business. Not to mention, it would set a terrible precedent.
