A lot NB slots will convince those in the right seat to upgrade for relative seniority.
Well we just had a smaller 100 CA vacancy 6 months ago and pilots with 2 years were getting NBCA. Any of those "senior FOs waiting to upgrade" could have just bid then but didn't. I imagine a 300 CA bid would be going unfilled again, or at least to probationary pilots.
We aren't even at the peak of NB deliveries and retirements are ramping up. I fully expect unfilled NBCA bids to happen again, especially in EWR and SFO but probably other bases as well.
