Default What do they want?

So I’ve been pondering on the latest and previous missive from management. It makes me wonder what they want? I would assume they wouldn’t try direct negotiations unless they want something?

At the flight ops level I’m sure that they want and probably “owe” a retirement improvement to their people who they made deals with to get where they are.

At a higher level, it would seem that we are helping them with their “shareholder over all” goals. Not saying we are going in the wrong direction. But why does the C-suite want a deal?
The only thing I can come up with is scope. They are so upset we didn’t give them their scope clause they are punishing us. I’m not worried with the representation we have. But with the limp dicks of the past, I believe we’d have close to industry rates and improved retirement with TA23 scope or worse.
