Ambivalent about the latest RG memo.
There's posturing going on, and it's not for the pilot group.
EBs reign won't last forever. (He makes money and signs off on contracts where we get paid more and have profit sharing; I'm good with that. I'd shake his hand. He's caved on our contract demands twice. R. Anderson did the same with more panache; I was sorry to see him go even if he did break the mechanics union at NWA.* But a Leo Mullin or Ron Allen ("Let's overpay for Comair!") may always be the next on the roster. You never know. New CEO's are always an existential threat to the airline)
When we receive direct emails from VPs about the day-to-day, I wonder who's auditioning/posturing for what. That level of greasy pole climbing is light years outside my wheelhouse.
Any VP memo that comes to my boring line pilot email address about "big picture" stuff raises an eyebrow.
What Delta pilot would think "Yeah, I'm going with that, not the ALPA stuff?"
Because anyone who's been paying attention (and I don't pay much attention) knows something sketchy is going on in the pay department.
Fook-ery afoot.
(*) Grok it if you're interested. The NWA mechanic strike has layers.
