Why not study it(and collect data first), then make a proposal? This is the CRM equivalent of committing to an alternate without asking Dispatch and your First Officer… aka poor planning and decision making.
It’s not required, however just like with the original age 60 to 65 change. Having a pilot under 60 was required with a pilot over 60. However that was dropped by the FAA fairly quickly once the data revealed it was totally unnecessary.
