I’d call it hope rather than projection. Hope that we were talking about facts that are relevant to the discussion. The discussion is about age 67 in pilots. Any relevant statistic isn’t going to come out of data on the health of Yemeni men in their sixties. Hence my comment about Western first-world countries. I don’t believe the relevant data exists. Nobody has a Cog analysis with that scope. What does exist is the safety data broken down by age in countries that allow 65+. The efficacy of using those statistics to prove or disprove safety is suspect.

Among other things they get wrong they do not mention anything about quality of the healthcare people are getting in those different countries (there is a reason that those who can afford it all come to America for major surgeries). Speaking of suspect …… The Commonwealth Fund is rated as center-left. More importantly, their factual reporting is rated as high. The studies’ ‘biased source’ ? There are three sources - the Commonwealth Fund, the World Health Organization, and OECD. If you don’t believe the numbers, then we disagree. People come here to get surgeries for two reasons. If you pay enough, you can have anything. Pay more, and you can have it quickly too. If you travel a mile across our southern border, there’s an entire city devoted to dental and maxillofacial medicine. It’s the same dynamic.
