I always use my USAA credit card but also have a backup card just in case the USAA one is compromised. The rates are great and it is very convenient. They also do a great job of fraud monitoring and you can turn off the card temporarily if you suspect something or misplace your card.

I also had a minor mishap with my rental car in New Zealand and USAA paid the deductible for the rental car insurance. I rent cars all over the world, including Europe. I travel a lot and the USAA card is used for almost every transaction except a few with Euros or other local currencies.
