Well, the FAA is already studying just that.

Do the old guys care? Hell, no. They'd welcome the excuse to go out on disability for two extra years. But it would have a lot of collateral damage.
It's a weird argument to say because some people lie on their medical, that the FAA should just ignore that. If that's the case, why even bother with a medical just have the pilots get their own physical and "certify" that they are ok before each flt.

The only way to have a proper medical monitoring system is to have the most accurate information and a reasonable action on concerns.
