he was referring to what DEI does to hiring standards. And the perception of hiring standards. A black or female pilot could have been an astronaut prior to United, but DEI creates doubt about whether or not those individuals earned it or were given it.
You get rid of DEI, public perception will be that everyone earned it.
Asians don’t have DEI installed in their hiring at any job I am aware of, nor college entrance. Yet they have one of the highest average earnings, lowest unemployment of anyone, and there’s never a perception they didn’t work hard and earn it.
