I was fairly understanding of the hard years pilots before me faced but for them to say the younger pilots deserve less and should face the same career paths they did (all because of timing and luck) put a really sour taste in my mouth. I increased my PAC contributions to fight it because of the awful sentiment I saw.
I love Captain Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve trashing a 25 year old pilot as being unsafe while stating his 40 year career..... Exposed himself that he himself got hired at 25 years old. So was he a dangerous pilot when he was hired on?
My position would be more open if they just were the types that go, " I still enjoy my job and if I could continue I would as I love what I do".
My stance is driven by the BS of age discrimination while they sat back letting that discrimination benefit themselves, throw their fellow pilots under the bus to achieve it( using the DCA crash as proof that their experience would have prevented it), etc. They try to say 67 will be a good thing for us while deriding how 65 screwed them. How our careers will be perfect and will face no road blocks.
Just as much as they chirp about those against saying planes will fall out of the sky with 66 year olds keeling over, they themselves partake in the BS.
