Vac days aren't the most efficient use of them fot sure, but all is not lost. On the 717, rarely does a day break 5+15, so washing them for 7 hour days isn't really a thing. Im getting close to doubling my vacation for next year. Thanks to PB days, I'll likely be able to nearly take the entire summer off next year. Love being full with just vacation. Theb only flying if I'm called for an IA/GS or a SS.
I've always been able to find a trip for 7+ hours on the 717, and there are usually a lot in the ~6:45 range. Most of your 7 hour days are some sort of 4 leg day through MSP, like ATL-CLT-MSP-IND-MSP, or something along those lines.
