My base is the opposite, known for a great group of pilots, we kind of ‘do our own thing’.

My experience in the military is rather aligned with this, the further away you get from the flag, the better the climate and culture is.

My question is if United is a big enough company that this doesn’t exist or if there are nuances about different bases. If so, what’s the widely accepted best climate/culture base?

Thank you for the insight!

I find the cultural differences vary in terms of fleet and age rather than in bases but of course IAH has the biggest differences. I’ve flown with younger Guys who transitioned over to narrow body from wide. They couldn’t stand the wide body captains . Most younger folks couldn’t stand flying with boomers. And in my personal experience (and I mean very personal) I’m on red alert flying with older unmarried guys . They haven’t learned nitpicking about small ******* is annoying and ruins the cohesiveness in the flight deck. strictly bias from me I guess . Otherwise I personally have enjoyed flying with most older gentleman. Politics vary, but IAH again takes the cake for the most politically charged .
