Secondly, there are many ALPA carriers who dues dollars do not support their airlines union operation. It’s not that pilot groups fault, they are small and the dues dollars are just not enough to support their MEC/LECs without National “redistribution of dues” from other carriers. So AA dues dollars will be increased from APA 1% to help subsidize smaller ALPA carriers.
"Current 1%". Isn't that because of a temporary dues holiday? What are your normal/regular dues? Isn't it something like 1.3% except during Section 6 negotiations when it goes up to 1.6%? Genuine question.

I'm not posting to convince anyone in any potential vote. Simply stating that IF anyone is basing their vote, at least in part, on dues %, both 'sides' need to be comparing actual apples:apples. Recognize that temporary dues reductions (be they by APA or ALPA) are just that, but also recognizing that several consecutive years of sustained dues reduction is meaningful. And, to say that I think we would ALL expect ALPA dues to be permanently reduced should 17,000 pilots join. A 20+% increase in dues paying pilots simply has to lower dues. Do with that what you will.
