We have an opportunity to make this job better for everyone. What does ALPA have to improve AA pilots? How could APA improve ALPA? This could be a great opportunity to benefit the profession.

When I was an ALPA member my only frustrations were when ALPA national was involved. They came across as a bureaucratic waste of regional airline resources. I liked the LEC MEC set up. National just felt like pilots trying to get a gig that pays well and allowed them not to fly.

Can we adopt some of the better benefits APA has to offer? Aeromedical, healthcare for early retirees, lower dues, Etc..

Can we go a step further and find better opportunities for pilots? What if everyone’s healthcare was provided by our Union? Could we save money splitting off from our companies? A smaller healthier, group that an insurance company may want. Think about what a good deal USAA was when they restricted who was let in. Educated, drug free, healthier, averse to risk, driven, etc.. That is an actuaries dream.

Maybe this is the opportunity to change for the better.
