This PC12 idea may come off as “innovative” but it’s actually a giant sign of a bad business model… the majors aren’t kidding when they say the LCC model will not last forever (they are actively killing it via loyalty/basic econ). Continue to work here at your own (literal) risk.
Some things become self fulfilling prophecies. If training costs are driven up by everybody bailing shortly after they get a major aircraft type and a year off IOE, it’s going to have an effect on the bottom line that will hurt the business model.
On the other hand, the three CAs at NK who advised me early on that I had too little seniority to survive the deep cuts that were coming, and that if they were me they’d jump to a legacy but they personally had too much seniority to leave…
They figured at worst there would be a merger with an ugly SLI.
I’ve now written LORs on the last of all three of those guys, and two of the three have CJOs at my legacy and the third is hoping to get a CJO at any one of the three legacies he’s now trying to jump to. Seniority is great for QOL…until it isn’t.
Life is always a roll of the dice. All you can do is make the best guess you can and act accordingly.
