Here's what I know: There are about the same amount of flights per day to each. LAX is much harder to get around the airport and has fewer UA flights. SFO can slow down due to Wx. Don't really know the hotel/crash pad scene at either. Sounds like with the planned movement won't be a horribly long stint on reserve. Ultimate shortish term plan is to get to DEN.

How sure are you that you’re going to be in SLC for three years? Can it be shorter? Can it end up being permanent?
I know a dude who lives in SLC and did the California commute then LAS. Ultimately left to Delta because he came to the understanding that his wife was never going to leave SLC and he was going to lose a ton of time with the family commuting for 20+ years.
