I'm not Lori, but here are a few of the things that I have seen in my experiences as an interviewer... There are many others, but these are the first to come to mind. I tried to list them in order from most common to least common, but I've personally experienced all of them.
  • Incomplete paperwork/application or missing paperwork
  • Gross errors on paperwork/application (mispellings, bad handwriting, etc)
  • Failure to provide "respect" to all airline employees you encounter (It's amazing the way some applicants will treat interns or receptionists- remember, it doesn't matter what you do for the "team"- everybody is important and deserves common courtesy/respect)
  • Improperly dressed/bad appearance
  • Failure to maintain eye contact
  • Ignoring a member of the interview panel (typically a female or very young member of the panel)
  • Fidgeting/Rocking back in chair (Actually had one guy fall off the chair once)
  • Cheating on written test
  • Nosepicking/Nailbiting/Gum Chewing
  • Failure to be personable to other applicants or employees
  • Lack of logbooks/pilot documentation or falsified logs
  • Bad mouthing the airline at the interview (These were the exact words: "You can't blame me that I'm late for the interview... it was your crappy flight that was late getting me here!")
