Nobody is disputing whether or not it is a "personal" decision. The question I am posing is, if as insinuated by the post I replied to.....if the only reason for banging out fatigued is not based on safety but instead on real/perceived injustices by the company .... is that righteous? If I would have had a green slip and showed up but it subsequently was cancelled due to "fatigue" by the other pilot, and all I got was suit up pay......and the other pilot admitted the only reason he banged out fatigued was "principle".....I would be miffed.
Call me shallow, or call it a hypothetical..........but it has happened.
Think you're getting mixed up here Buck. My or any of my crew's decision to not extend is their decision. An extension is by exception, nothing more. And I, or anyone else is not required to do so. It's not to get back at "the man" - it's simply a safety call. The company can not compel us to extend. We accept it, or don't accept it at our own choosing.
