As someone who has been on LTD 2x here, I'm a big fan of our system as it is. IF we leave the totals alone, I'd be all for a hybrid system where we can rollover a portion into a bank (kinda like the "enhanced disability bank", if not more into that "bank"). I recognize some will disagree with me - and that's fine - but I care less about selling back (a portion of) a bank or retiring with 1000 sick hours than I do having (up to) 270 hours a year. As I get older, I'm becoming more aware of folks having knees replaced and such things that mean having a large number of annual sick hours a huge plus. The very next year after a knee replacement having 240/270 hours is a big deal, IMO. And suddenly nuking any bank with a large event leaving you with a glacially slow accumulation to replenish is not worth it, IMO.

But the devil is in the details. And that doesn't even address the mechanics of how would we transition to a 'bank' system?
The only thing wrong with our sick is the harassment clause. Just because we chose to address sick differently than the industry standard doesn't mean we will be pressured to comply with some new to us concept that others have used. NMB could care less how something is done, they just want it done. Our sick is fine and at 120 hours the verification isn't really an issue. If your that sick in the last 12 months it's worth it to get a doctor to sign off on a head cold as a condition of using more IMHO.
