Source is probably open time and nonstop phone calls from crew scheds. I've gotten a dozen this week. Not exactly definitive, but telling.
Which brings up a (ANOTHER!) serious shortcoming with FDX ALPA. The company clearly goes out of its way to keep us from having insight on how the daily operations going. It was pretty bad before, but when we let the USPS contract go, they took away the ability to see the planned city pairings beyond the bidpack. At other airlines you can see a status of daily planned flights vs what was actually executed. I'd love to see our union put together something similar with the data that we have in hand (that the company can't hide from us). Between bidpacks and open time, we can gather planned flights. And between flight status and commercial apps we could source the outcome of all those flights. I'm not smart enough to do it, but we have the builders of FxCal, BidX, and Acrobid on our team. I'm sure with a little $$ and motivation we could have a pretty good idea of operational status.
