The government just announced they are going to force the airlines to cut 10 percent of their schedules in certain markets. I guarantee you every major hub is on that list. If it’s not enough, they’ll force more. You don’t think a 10 percent forced reduction in flight schedules is a big deal? What if the government is shut down for a year? Eventually, the entire TSA and the controllers will just quit. This absolutely has potential to get really bad for us.
Delta is a big ship with a small rudder. covid reminded us of that. Today Delta is doing strategic planning for 2027 and beyond, not reacting to the cat fights in DC happening this week.
All that’s gonna happen is for November and hopefully into December a good percentage of us will get some phenomenal rerouted pay and get to go home early on some trips. Sounds like winning for the pilots to me!
