You don't get it. BEBOP was just a tool, not the real problem. The real problem is toxic management pretending to be "leaders", forcing 100% blind compliance on a bad process using a new tool. No matter what tool or process they come up with next, it'll fail miserably as long as they continue to insist on 100% blind compliance instead of allowing front line employees to use their judgement and adding the tool as an input to our existing processes.

I'm convinced BEBOP would have been a fine advisory tool if they'd let it simmer a bit and permitted employees to use it for information only at first to see if it matched real world conditions at all. Over time it absolutely could have been massaged or modified to be an actual useful predictive source of information on when to start gate checking bags. Instead, management threatened employees with discipline if they didn't blindly follow a new process that relied entirely on a new, unproven, and inaccurate tool.

That's the point, and that's what hasn't changed and probably won't change no matter what they call the next tool that replaces BEBOP. The managers that threaten discipline while insisting on 100% compliance with a new unproven process and tool are toxic and are actively harming SWA. This is nothing new, it's part of GK's enduring legacy of management expressing disdain and contempt for the actual subject matter experts who work front line ops day in day out.
