While there is a potential for a relatively smaller vacancy in February on the B737 to account for schedule adjustments, our expectation is that this will be the best opportunity for a B737 Captain role in the next 12 months."

So, if you want, that means there will be 1 more 737 Captain bid in February (potentially) and nothing for the remaining 12 months. Or that means there will be a not quite as big (say 200 instead of the current 202) 737 Captain bid in February (potentially) and random smaller numbers throughout the remaining 12 months with none of those bids having 202 737 Captain slots, so this bid is your "best opportunity" to get one.

Reality prob lies somewhere in the middle.

The math of 5 ish 737s per month coming next year says there will be smaller opportunity throughout the year. So, I believe the wording is chosen to allow for flexibility later without telling a lie today and is crafted under the philosophy of under promise and over deliver.

Guess by this time next year we will know for sure.
Interesting. So basically the news is that there won’t be vacancies to cover the full amount of deliveries coming because the company just doesn’t know if they’ll actually get here? Is that a fair statement?
