I spoke with one of the guys in that office recently and asked that question. He said they try to be accurate but he said it's astounding how many pilots change their bid, sometimes I'm the last 5 minutes. They don't decide backfills until they see where all the moving pieces end up and even that changes daily. So the answer is, they don't know and won't know about backfills until the bid closes and they know how much training is going to be required
Makes sense. I saw some backfills in another NB A category but none none in others. The backfills I saw, did not cover all those leaving.
