I use sick time (sick if needed is still a great contract provision despite the min 1-day sick charge if you're needed) and the occasion PVD to control my QoL. I also go ugly early if I know I am going to get called and especially look for trips with return deadheads that I can no-show and get home early without Table B rest requirements. Even though I'm junior, my ear is always open to when the **** hits the fan and I drop generic ballots to get OG. It only takes one to make 90 hours with a 76 hour min guarantee once you include reassignments and other additional pay. Bottom line, I don't hesitate to play the game and maximize my QoL based on what my seniority can hold. I certainly don't let it ride like many of friends I keep in touch with from training/INDOC who are in my bid status.
I'm senior to that in CLT ...85 EVERY month. October was a shining star at only 77
