Didn't do single engine a lot in the MD, but it was done. Sometimes failed on a 2 engine go and you had to descend to gain enough speed to fly on one engine.

Depending on what you had left, you were committed to land at either slats or gear down (last 1000'). There was also some kind of Sioux City switch failure or something where you limped it in with power and trim.

Haven't been on it since it was domesticated so I may be a little off.

As far as a camera to see an engine come off, the reaction would probably more like...
