Or, to rephrase, of all those interested in buying us (if there are any), whoever has the backing of DC will prevail. Conversely, without DC's support, even an entity that makes the most operational sense will not succeed.
Government approval isn't the issue for any acquiring airline. Integration hassles and the financial return on that is the issue. If Alaska could buy Hawaiian under Biden then neither the DOJ nor the FTC under Trump are going to stop anyone from buying Spirit.
