Some definitely could make more in any status than someone else in the same status, and everyone should evaluate what’s best for them based on their unique situation.

My situation, I definitely make more as a NB CA vs being a NB FO. I won’t go out of my way to chase premium pay. I will say though that my QOL would be awesome as a NB FO though.
but my QOL as a jr NB Captain isn’t terrible either. I’ve been about 50/50 between being a lineholder and being on reserve.When on reserve, I normally bid LCL as a commuter.
MMG at Captain pay is good enough for me. Everything over MMG is gravy.
i flew with a FO who show me his stub and he pretty much matched what I had at MMG, but dude was watching trade board like day traders watch the market lol.
