I've found the DPMP is generally low hassle. The key to understanding its advantage is that both in-network and out of network costs apply to the same limit bucket (deductible and OOP Max) versus separate buckets. This you have considerable freedom to go see who you want to see and make your own medical choices.

I've received considerably less pushback from providers when they see it's a PPO vs a HSA plan.
forgive my ignorance, but what difference is there in the appeals process of the dpmp vs the silver/gold hdhp options? trying to figure out whether to go dpmp this year or stick with hsa options.
