I had the same thing last year. MX cancellation. Flight showed cancelled to the pax. We were told by scheduling that it was cancelled and we'd be operating it as a ferry whenever the plane was fixed. Rest of our trip was removed. Released into rest and came back the next day. Didn't get reroute pay, both company and union said it was delayed operations and no reroute pay due (for that leg).
This is something else small but important to change in C27: If you're released into an unscheduled rest, it's automatically a reroute.
