Have you considered adding OAK, LAS and maybe PHX CA before downgrading? Lots of flights between LAX area airports and those 3... I could understand accepting downgrade before commuting across the country, but these 3 shouldn't be much worse than driving from say Inland Empire.
My home life would be significantly degraded by the commute, enough so that I'd find other employment or move if faced with no choice but to commute. I'm not going to commute again.
