This is spot on. There will be a different dynamic between a 20 year military flyer in their mid-forties and a 28 year old that got picked up after 2-3 years at SkyWest.
The captain should be consistent, not change their approach for each individual. Would that mean that when they are flying with three FO’s that they need to have three different personalities? That notion is crazy to me.
As a F/O I know it’s my job to adapt. I ask each CA how they like things done and some have very answers. You’d be surprised how many CA’s always want the winds zeroed out on the performance data, and you know what? That’s ok. I adapt to what they want because they are the leader of the show.
