Let us others have our nich airline, our unique way of life, and fight to get better pay and improve upon the benefits we have.
Also, your attitude towards the visa holders is disappointing. ALL Visa holders are U.S. Persons, and I say that as a former CBP officer and customs agent. They have every right that a US citizen has, as they should. Their visa was created and granted to cement a close strategic relationship between two kindred nations. As members of our seniority list, I will fight for their rights to remain Giant pilots. Their presence helped propel growth, and their subsequent departures have helped bring about contractual improvements when no negotiation rights existed and the company had no obligation to provide them
As the self appointed global leader and defender of liberty, justice, and freedom, we should be welcoming of all those who want to join us, both at Atlas and in the States. We should not strive to be like the nations who create social classes and cast systems and treat others worse because the are different or below us.
And that’s some of the problems our country has that need fixing.
Also a position that’s wildly unpopular with we the people (both lefties and conservatives) go look at how people in mass have reacted to Trump & Elons pro H1B visa scheme stance
Folks are seeing it for what it is, cheaper labor who can’t jump an employers ****ty ship as easily.
It’s just common sense an American should NEVER be on the same footing as a non American in America.
*People stay at atlas because
1 It’s the best they can do, often because they can’t pass the “water cooler test”
2 Because they live in a base that’s unique to atlas and like it there
3 because they somehow got lost in time, finally get a OKish paycheck and don’t want to start over
4 got the job, pays good enough, and are too lazy to apply elsewhere
Again Atlas is awesome… if you got a decade in seniority.
