The Alaska CA that asked me for my ALPA card when I asked to ride with him to work last week might have cared... I don't know.

If it would have gone through, you do know that about 700 XJT pilots would be on the street, right? I asked you that before in another post and you didn't answer. If you (or anybody else) thinks that XJT would have been operated status quo after the buyout, sorry, you are mistaken. If you need evidence of what I mean, take a look the next time you see a CRJ with an ASA end number on it but has the SkyWest logo on the nose, using the SkyWest callsign, being flown by SkyWest pilots.
It's hard for alot of people to realize that the ExpressJet pilots stoped the sale of XJT to SKYW... Most of them don't understand how the contract (in iron clad language) says that if any holding company buys XJT all the pilots of all airlines held by the holding company must be on one list and under the same contract. Most of them think SKYW could some how buy XJT and then get around this, even though they are operating under no statutes that would let them "bend" the rules.
I guess most guys aren't used to seeing an RJ pilot group with merger scope so bulletproof.
