Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but it’s my understanding that if you have displacement rights you can move into whatever seat you have the seniority to hold, full stop, regardless of rank or equipment. Worst case scenario, potentially displacing the bottom pilot of that seat and creating a cascade of displacements throughout various fleet types all the way to the bottom.
DISCLAIMER: could be fake news, but My understanding was there was some protection from a sleepy senior FO suddenly deciding to bid captain when there were displacements going on across the system. Less bump protection, but a freeze on others. Almost like prevention or mitigation of a flush bid.
We don’t have any transparency in our vacancy bidding as our preferences aren’t public nor data as to the most senior/junior pilots attempting an award.
