DISCLAIMER: could be fake news, but My understanding was there was some protection from a sleepy senior FO suddenly deciding to bid captain when there were displacements going on across the system. Less bump protection, but a freeze on others. Almost like prevention or mitigation of a flush bid.
We don’t have any transparency in our vacancy bidding as our preferences aren’t public nor data as to the most senior/junior pilots attempting an award.
If anything our side may be more limited in movement because half our pilot group is seat locked at any given time due to all the fleet changes which prevents movement in displacements or regular bids.
