The trip mix out of LAX will have significantly more options than SAN.
Getting to SAN from LAS, PHX or anywhere is measurably more difficult. (No CAT III, for example).
Unless bidding San Diego reduces your drive by 30 minutes or more, I don't see the appeal.
I disagree. Loads and frequency, depending on the departure airport, will be better. Now trip mix I agree with.
