Depends on what you can hold, where. Also, for the time being, SAN is the only base that isn't another mainline pilot base. There is a huge commuting advantage to that. If I lived in LAS or PHX, I would take SAN over LAX any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
LAS and PHX do have a lot of flights. But commuting is like tracers... works both ways, lot of ex-Navy folks in SAN commuting *to* LAS and PHX.
