My guess is that most of the Mexico flying out of SAN will turn, either back to SAN or somewhere north. Likely won’t have a lot of Mexico layovers, based on how the flying is build out of LAX.

Latin American layovers out of LAX have layovers ranging from 10:30 day rest short back (land at 5am, depart that afternoon and return LAX around 18:00) for GDL. The trip actually goes senior, since the footprint is from midnight to 18:00 and pays 10:30. Plus, GDL is about a 3 hours flight and easier to suffer through at night.

LIR can be anything from day rest-short back to 36 hours at one of the best layover hotels in the system (after a 2 hour drive). Plenty of 15ish hour layovers at the hotel near the airport. Also goes senior because of the footprint.

BZE 15 hour layover.

CUN short back for the red eye. 24-26 hour layover for the day time flights.

GUA roughly 24 hour layover

SJO roughly 24 hours

SJD and PVR sprinkled in, usually 20-24 hours.
